Established in 2011 by seasoned entrepreneurs Eric Guillerm and Marc Brua, Squad has carved a significant niche in the European cybersecurity landscape. The founders possess a long-standing partnership, having previously launched and managed IT security and services companies like Neurocom and Aequalis since the 1990s. Their extensive experience in the IT sector provided a solid foundation for Squad's rapid expansion, which started with a strong presence in provincial France before establishing its Paris headquarters.

The Group operates as a pure-play cybersecurity consultancy, serving a blue-chip client base that includes over half of the CAC 40 and SBF 120 companies. Its business model centers on providing a comprehensive 360-degree offering that encompasses four key pillars: audit, consulting and expertise, integration, and managed security services (MSSP). Revenue is generated through providing these high-value services, which address the secure transformation and optimization of client information systems, from IT and cloud infrastructures to operational technology (OT) and embedded systems. Squad has demonstrated robust financial growth, reaching approximately €100 million in revenue by 2023 and €125 million in 2024.

Squad's service portfolio is designed to address the full spectrum of modern digital security challenges. Offerings include Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), operational cybersecurity, IT & cloud security, access control, and security for OT, IoT, and embedded systems. The firm conducts in-depth audits to find vulnerabilities, advises on digital transformation, and strengthens security postures by designing and deploying tailored solutions. A key service is its 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC), which provides proactive monitoring, detection, and incident response, leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency. This is complemented by a Vulnerability Operations Center (VOC) and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) services that analyze threats from various sources, including the dark web.

Strategic acquisitions have been central to Squad's growth, broadening its expertise and geographic footprint. In 2024, the company integrated Newlode, a French cybersecurity integrator, and Scassi, a specialist in critical and embedded systems with operations in France and Spain. This expansion is supported by investment partners, including Abenex, which took a stake in December 2020 to fuel both organic growth and further acquisitions. With a team of over 1,000 experts across 12 offices in France, Switzerland, Spain, and Canada, Squad is pursuing its ambition to become a recognized European leader in cybersecurity by 2026.
