SaaS solutions for construction equipment rental management
About Sorabito
SORABITO Inc. is a Japanese technology company, founded on May 12, 2014, that is focused on the digital transformation of the construction and heavy equipment rental industries. The company's vision is to create a more efficient ecosystem for 'working machines' by developing services that optimize the procurement and operational management of equipment necessary for construction sites.
The company was founded by Takayuki Aoki, who grew up in a family involved in the construction business and was inspired to address the industry's inefficiencies through technology. The current President and CEO is Kazuaki Hakata, who joined Sorabito in 2017 after a career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch Japan Securities. Hakata was drawn to the company by its potential for industry transformation and the founder's vision, and he held roles as CFO, Head of Business, and Head of Product before becoming President in 2018.
Sorabito's core offerings are centered around its "i-Rental" series of SaaS products, designed to support the digital transformation of equipment rental companies. These services include "i-Rental Chuumon" (i-Rental Order), an app that facilitates online ordering of rental equipment; "i-Rental Tenken" (i-Rental Inspection), which enables paperless equipment inspections; "i-Rental Juchuu Kanri" (i-Rental Order Management), a cloud-based system for streamlining rental order processing; and "i-Rental AI," a service for business analysis. For construction companies, Sorabito provides services like "GENBAx Tenken" for paperless on-site inspections and the "Kensetsu Smart Card," a dedicated credit card for the construction industry to promote cashless transactions.
Initially, Sorabito operated "ALLSTOCKER," an international online marketplace for used construction machinery that attracted users from over 150 countries. However, the company has since shifted its primary focus to its SaaS solutions and announced the transfer of the ALLSTOCKER business in May 2022.
Sorabito has secured significant funding from various investors, including major corporations like Sumitomo Corporation, Itochu Construction Machinery, and ENEOS Innovation Partners, as well as venture capital firms. As of April 2025, the company's cumulative funding reached approximately 4.7 billion yen. This capital is being used to accelerate application development, strengthen its organizational structure for providing rental solutions, and enhance business alliances to further its vision of creating a comprehensive ecosystem for working machinery.
