Soft Space is a Malaysia-headquartered fintech building secure payment infrastructure for banks and merchants across Asia, spanning softPOS / Soft Space SoftPOS, card-present acceptance, and issuer/acquirer technology used by financial institutions in multiple markets. Founded in 2012, the company has partnered with banks and payment schemes across the region and with Japan-linked strategics, positioning SoftPOS and related rails for traditional merchants digitising acceptance.

Funding milestones include a US$31.5 million Series B1 (April 2023) led by Southern Capital Group, with participation from transcosmos, JCB and Hibiscus Fund—widely reported among the largest Series B rounds for a Malaysian startup at the time—followed by a March 2024 pre-Series C capital alliance with Japan’s GMO FINANCIAL GATE (amount undisclosed). Earlier capital included Sumitomo Mitsui Card / SMBC-linked rounds and prior JCB strategic investment. Soft Space continues to emphasise compliance-ready payment infrastructure rather than consumer wallets alone.
