Founded in 2015, Snowprint Studios is a mobile game developer focused on creating rich, tactical, free-to-play experiences for the "everyday gamer." The company was established in Stockholm, Sweden, by a team of seasoned game industry professionals, including CEO Alexander Ekvall, Patrik Lindegrén, and Martin Nyström. The founders' journeys are deeply rooted in the gaming world; Ekvall co-founded a mobile game studio that was acquired by King, where he then served as Director of Product, while Lindegrén was an architect for the mobile games engine used for several King titles, including *Candy Crush Saga*. This collective experience from industry giants like King, DICE, and Wooga shaped Snowprint's mission to make mid-core games more accessible without sacrificing strategic depth.

Snowprint operates on a free-to-play business model, generating revenue primarily through in-app purchases. The company's portfolio is centered on turn-based tactics games. Its first major title, *Legend of Solgard*, launched in 2018, followed by *Rivengard*. However, the studio's breakout success came in 2022 with the launch of *Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus*, a collaboration with Games Workshop. *Tacticus* allows players to collect warriors from various factions within the Warhammer 40,000 universe and engage in fast-paced tactical battles, player-versus-environment (PVE) campaigns, and player-versus-player (PVP) skirmishes. The game's success has been significant, winning Pocket Gamer's "Mobile Game of the Year" in 2022 and leading to substantial revenue growth for the studio. To further enhance player value and monetization, Snowprint launched a dedicated web shop for *Tacticus* in partnership with Stash, offering a direct-to-consumer channel with tailored offers.

Financially, Snowprint has secured funding through multiple rounds, with early backing from investors like King and angel investor Jari Ovaskainen. In October 2023, the digital entertainment company Modern Times Group (MTG) acquired a 70% majority stake in the studio. This acquisition provides Snowprint with access to MTG's resources to accelerate growth, particularly for *Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus*, with potential expansion to new platforms. With offices in Stockholm and Berlin, the company continues to develop its existing titles while working on future projects.
