A significant milestone in the company's trajectory occurred on July 18, 2006, when it was acquired by Kronos Incorporated, a major player in the workforce management industry. This acquisition was part of Kronos's strategy to expand its product portfolio and market share. Following the acquisition, the technology and expertise of SmartTime Software were integrated into Kronos's offerings. Kronos subsequently merged with Ultimate Software in 2020 to form UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), a global leader in human capital management and workforce management solutions.
