Skyfora was founded in 2019 in Helsinki, Finland. The company’s operating philosophy is that new general technologies, such as artificial intelligence, IoT, multi-band GNSS and ultralight electronics enable huge weather technology innovations. These in turn respond to business and social demand for more accurate weather intelligence to combat extreme weather exacerbated by climate change.

Skyfora provides solutions for all parts of the weather forecasting value chain: weather data obtained with improved instruments and patented GNSS Meteorology solution and AI Weather Forecast products based on artificial intelligence.

Skyfora’s instruments, the StreamSonde DS and StreamSonde RS are developed for the existing dropsonde and radiosonde market segments. The new ultralight instruments have unique features and are populated with more sensors providing more and better data than what the users are accustomed to today with instruments from incumbent manufacturers.

The proprietary GNSS Meteorology provide a vast amount of new sensor-grade weather observations globally that is used to improve traditional numerical weather predictions and especially AI-based weather forecasting.
