About Sky Labs

Sky Labs is an AI-driven healthcare platform company established in 2015 by CEO Jack Lee (Byunghwan Lee). Lee, who holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from KAIST, leveraged his 15 years of experience as a senior R&D engineer at Samsung Electronics, where he led the development of 5G technology, to pivot into digital health. His expertise in signal processing systems was foundational to the company's mission of developing data-driven preventive healthcare solutions for chronic diseases.

The firm is headquartered in Seongnam-si, South Korea, and focuses on providing continuous monitoring solutions for outpatients. Its business model centers on the development and sale of wearable medical devices coupled with a platform that collects, analyzes, and distributes biometric data to both patients and medical professionals. The primary clients are hospitals, clinics, and patients managing chronic conditions, particularly cardiovascular diseases.

Sky Labs' flagship product is a line of smart rings designed for continuous health monitoring. The initial product, CART-I, is a cardio tracker that uses photoplethysmography (PPG) and electrocardiogram (ECG) sensors to monitor heart rhythm and detect atrial fibrillation (AFib) with high accuracy. A subsequent version, CART BP, is a cuffless, ring-type blood pressure monitor that allows for 24-hour tracking of conditions like nocturnal hypertension. These devices, made from surgical materials, are water-resistant and connect to a mobile app available for both Android and iOS. This app provides real-time data, analysis, and allows for information to be shared with doctors. The platform utilizes cloud-based deep learning algorithms for advanced data analysis. The CART BP device received regulatory approval from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in 2023 and is reimbursed under the national health insurance system, being used in over 1,300 clinics across South Korea as of April 2025.
