Sivers Semiconductors

Semiconductors · Stockholm, Sweden · Founded 1951 · IPO 2013

A leading developer and manufacturer of millimeter wave products with more than 60 years of innovation experience MoreLess

In 1951, long before the digital age, a Swedish engineer named Carl von Sivers founded Sivers Lab, a company focused on microwave technology. The initial business centered on manufacturing passive microwave products for professional and educational use. This laid the groundwork for a company that would evolve through multiple technological waves, from early radar and telecommunications to the connected world of today. The company underwent several transformations, including an acquisition by Philips in the 1960s and a management buy-out in 1990. A pivotal moment arrived in 2017 when Sivers IMA Holding, as it was then known, acquired CST Global, a Scottish producer of photonic semiconductor devices, and listed on the Nasdaq First North Stockholm. This move signaled a strategic shift, and in 2020, the company rebranded to Sivers Semiconductors to better reflect its core business, with two distinct divisions: Sivers Wireless and Sivers Photonics. This strategic repositioning set the stage for a major milestone. In June 2021, Sivers Semiconductors up-listed to the main Nasdaq Stockholm market, increasing its visibility and access to international capital. Another significant event was the 2022 acquisition of MixComm, a U.S.-based competitor in the 5G millimeter-wave space. This acquisition expanded Sivers' customer base and intellectual property portfolio, solidifying its presence in the critical 5G and satellite communication markets.
