The core of SiLC's business is the development and manufacturing of chip-scale Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) LiDAR solutions. This technology represents a different approach compared to traditional Time-of-Flight (ToF) LiDAR, as it can measure the instantaneous velocity and polarization of light for each pixel, in addition to providing high-resolution 3D imaging. This capability allows for more accurate object identification, classification, and movement prediction, while being resistant to interference from sunlight and other sensors. The company operates on a business model that is transitioning from a component supplier to a provider of integrated solutions, serving clients across industrial automation, robotics, autonomous vehicles, security, and smart infrastructure.

SiLC's flagship product is the Eyeonic™ Vision System, which is built upon its proprietary 4D+ Eyeonic Chip. This chip integrates all the necessary photonics functions—such as lasers, amplifiers, and detectors—onto a single silicon platform, which allows for a compact, low-power, and cost-effective solution. The company offers several versions of the Eyeonic system tailored for different applications, with detection ranges spanning from under 50 meters for high-precision industrial tasks to over 1,250 meters for applications like drone tracking and perimeter security. In early 2024, SiLC introduced the Eyeonic Vision System Mini, a more compact version designed for high-precision applications in warehouse logistics and AI machine vision. The company has also developed the Eyeonic Trace, a Class 1 laser line scanner for industrial measurement and inspection.

Since its founding, SiLC Technologies has secured significant financial backing, raising a total of $78.6 million over five funding rounds. Its investors include notable corporate and venture capital firms such as Dell Technologies Capital, Sony Innovation Fund, Epson, Honda Innovations, and Hokuyo Automatic. This funding has been instrumental in scaling research and development, expanding manufacturing capacity, and supporting product development for a growing customer base.
