Si-Ware Systems is a fabless semiconductor company that provides sensing solutions, including custom ASIC development and optical MEMS products. The company was founded in Egypt in 2004 by Hisham Haddara, Bassam Saadany, and Ayman Ahmed. Haddara, the current CEO, has an extensive background in the microelectronics industry, having previously founded ANACAD Egypt (later acquired by Mentor Graphics) and served as a professor at Ain-Shams University. Saadany, the CTO, has over 25 years of experience in the photonics and semiconductor industry and is the principal inventor of the company's SiMOST™ technology.

The company's core technology platform, Silicon-integrated Micro-Optical Systems Technology (SiMOST™), enables the creation of multiple optical components on a single silicon chip. This led to the development of their flagship product line, NeoSpectra, the world's first single-chip FT-IR spectrometer. These miniature spectral sensors are designed for material analysis and offer performance comparable to larger, lab-based spectrometers at a significantly smaller size and lower cost. The product portfolio includes the NeoSpectra-Micro, a chip-sized sensor for integration into handheld mobile devices, and the NeoSpectra Scanner, a standalone portable device. These tools allow for immediate, on-site quantification of material composition, detection of impurities, and quality assessment across industries such as agriculture, food, oil and gas, and healthcare.

Si-Ware's business model involves selling these hardware components and devices to OEMs and system integrators. It also provides a cloud-based software platform, including the NeoSpectra LabStore, which offers calibration models required for various applications. This ecosystem allows businesses without in-house NIR spectroscopy expertise to deploy the technology for field analysis. In May 2025, the NeoSpectra business, including all products and services, was acquired by BUCHI, a company specializing in laboratory and process analytics. Si-Ware Systems continues to operate, focusing on developing advanced sensing solutions for other markets like manufacturing, automation, and healthcare.
