ShopperPlus
E-commerce platform for office and home essentials
About ShopperPlus
ShopperPlus is a Canadian e-commerce company founded in 2007 by Jack Zhan. Initially established as 123InkCartridges.ca in 2008 to sell printer supplies and office products online, the company rebranded to Shopper+ Inc. in 2015 to reflect its expansion into a wider variety of product categories. The company operates a family of websites, including Shopperplus.ca, 123ink.ca, and primecables.ca, which function under the Shopper+ Family umbrella with a shared checkout system.
The founder, Jack Zhan, graduated from Zhejiang University with a degree in computer science and worked as a core software engineer at Alibaba before moving to Canada in 2003. He pursued graduate studies at McGill University before leaving in 2005 to venture into e-commerce, which ultimately led to the creation of his own company. Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, ShopperPlus has grown to over 150 employees, with distribution centers in Montreal and Vancouver, as well as an office in Guangzhou, China.
The company's business model focuses on providing a broad range of affordable products directly to Canadian consumers and businesses. Its product offerings include office supplies, printer ink and toner, electronics, cables, home goods, kitchen items, and pet supplies. ShopperPlus has also developed several private label brands such as Moustache, PrimeCables, LivingBasics, and SortWise. The platform utilizes a technology and marketing system that provides targeted product recommendations based on customer purchase history and seasonality. In September 2021, ShopperPlus secured C$17 million in a Series A financing round to fuel its growth, expand its product selection, and enhance its fulfillment capabilities with plans to enter the U.S. market.
