Shifters (Shifters AI) is a U.S.–Israeli defence robotics company founded in 2023 by CEO Ofer Ballin and CTO Assaf Chaprak (Israeli Air Force veteran) to send autonomous ground robots into dangerous, degraded environments before people—for ISR, perimeter patrol, rubble/tunnel clearance and hazardous scanning. Its stack includes RITA, a software and command layer that interprets operator intent and adapts autonomous tasks; TRUST, a family of rugged legged “tray with legs” platforms that accept mission payloads and can be carried by soldiers or UGVs; and DIGITAL TWIN simulation mirroring robots, environments and missions. Press cites testing with security and national-security clients including U.S. Army units, with TRUST targeting high TRL by end of 2026. In June 2026 Shifters raised $10.2 million in seed funding led by Ace Capital Partners, with Aurelius Capital Management, Corner Ventures and Arkin Capital, bringing total funding to $15 million to advance AI, production readiness and expansion across the U.S., Middle East and Europe.
