Shengrui Transmission Co., Ltd. is a state-owned joint-stock enterprise controlled by China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, located in Weifang, Shandong, China. Founded in 2003 by Liu Xiangwu, the company initially focused on manufacturing diesel engine parts. A significant shift occurred in 2007 when the company, under Liu Xiangwu's leadership, decided to enter the automatic transmission sector to address a gap in the Chinese market, which was heavily reliant on imports.

Shengrui specializes in the research, development, and production of automatic transmissions (AT) and key engine components. The company's business model revolves around supplying its products to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Its client base includes domestic and international automakers such as Jiangling Motors (JMC), Weichai Power, the Fiat Group, and others. The company diversified from being a labor-intensive parts manufacturer to a technology-focused enterprise by developing advanced transmission systems.

A cornerstone of Shengrui's product portfolio is its 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT). The development began in 2007 in partnership with Germany's Chemnitz University of Technology and UK's Ricardo plc, aiming to create a front-engine, front-drive 8AT, a world-first at the time. This product broke foreign monopoly in the Chinese market and won the National Science and Technology Progress Award first prize. The company has since developed several generations of the 8AT, including versions for commercial vehicles and hybrid models, forming product platforms like the transverse 8AT, longitudinal 8AT, and hybrid 8HT series. Beyond transmissions, Shengrui continues to produce a wide range of over 1,000 engine parts, including connecting rods, camshafts, flywheels, and water pumps.
