ShanX Medtech (SXM) is an Eindhoven / High Tech Campus Netherlands medtech spin-out developing ultra-rapid, direct-from-specimen antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) for point-of-care and laboratory use. Its FLORA fluorescent chemistry monitors bacterial metabolism across an antibiotic panel, delivering lab-grade results in as little as about one hour with minimal hands-on time and no complex pre-analytical steps, so clinicians can choose effective antibiotics earlier and help curb antimicrobial resistance. In January 2026 ShanX closed an oversubscribed €15 million seed package comprising equity, grants and the Dutch Innovatiekrediet, led by Borski Fund, NextGen Ventures, CbusineZ, BOM, Invest-NL and a strategic angel fund, complemented by an €8.85 million EU procurement contract from DG HERA/HaDEA — bringing total financing cited to about €24 million to finish development, clinical validation, regulatory approval and commercial launch.
