About SENALIA

The story of SENALIA begins in post-war France, a time when the nation was rebuilding its agricultural sector. In 1957, representatives from 20 local cooperatives in the Eure-et-Loir region, an area with surplus wheat production, decided to join forces to export their grain. They established UCACEL (Union of Agricultural Cereal Cooperatives of Eure-et-Loir) and built a strategic silo in Rouen, leveraging its maritime access. A parallel organization, SPR, was formed in 1958 by nine cooperatives. These two entities would later merge to become the foundation of SENALIA. SENALIA as it is known today was created from the merger of these two historical structures, UCACEL and SPR. The company operates as a crucial link in the agricultural supply chain, providing port storage and logistics services for cereals, sugar, and other agricultural goods, enabling farmers to access foreign markets. It is a key player in the port of Rouen, handling a significant portion of France's cereal exports. A significant event in the company's journey was its 2024 decision to invest €20 million to diversify into warehousing and logistics for packaged goods. This move represents a major strategic expansion beyond its historical focus on bulk agricultural products. The company's leadership, including President Thierry Dupont and CEO Gilles Kindelberger, have guided this expansion, aiming to create new value and access new markets along the Seine Axis. In late 2024, it was announced that Philippe Lestrade would take over as CEO in early 2025.
