Semdor Pharma Group was established in January 2021 through the strategic merger of PS Group and Cannamedical Pharma GmbH, positioning itself as a significant entity in the European pharmaceutical market for narcotics and medical cannabis. The group was formed to create a full-service platform covering the entire value chain from product research and brand creation to distribution. The transaction was supported by over €40 million in new capital, led by Orkila Capital, to fuel growth initiatives.

The company operates through its specialized subsidiaries. Cannamedical Pharma, founded in Cologne by David Henn in November 2016, is a producer and importer of medical cannabis products from countries like Canada, Australia, and the Netherlands. It focuses on distributing high-quality medical cannabis to pharmacies and clinical facilities, aiming to improve patients' quality of life. PS Group, founded in 1993 by Karin Klotzbach-Bierhoff, is a service provider in the narcotics industry, specializing in logistics, manufacturing, and packaging. Other entities include PB Pharma, which markets over 500 different preparations, and Cannalivery, an online pharmacy for medical cannabis.

Semdor Pharma Group's business model is centered on providing a comprehensive range of both synthetic and natural narcotic medicines and medical cannabis to wholesalers, suppliers, and pharmacies across Europe. The group generates revenue through the sale and distribution of these pharmaceutical products, as well as by offering a wide array of services including importing, handling, packaging, formulation, and logistics for the narcotics industry. The company adheres to strict quality standards, with its partners meeting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and its own operations certified for Good Distribution Practice (GDP).

The leadership team combines the management of the merged companies, with David Henn serving as CEO and Marcel Mülders as CFO. The group employs over 200 people across its locations and is headquartered in Cologne, Germany. A significant post-merger project includes the construction of a new 2,500m² facility in Meerbusch to double operational capacity and enhance R&D, product formulation, and packaging services.
