Seltz is a Turin-rooted agentic-search infrastructure company founded by CEO Antonio Mallia (Ph.D. NYU information retrieval; formerly Amazon AGI / Alexa QA and Pinecone research) that rebuilds web search for AI agents rather than human SERPs. It owns its crawler, index, retrieval models and ranking stack so agents can run long, parallel, machine-oriented queries and receive fresh, citable passages, tables and images—often buried beyond headline snippets—in under ~200–250 milliseconds, instead of ranked links from Google or Bing. Mallia started with a news index and shipped platform capability within months; the company publishes a Dynamic News Search benchmark and says it crawls hundreds of millions of pages a day while targeting tens of billions of documents at scale. Customers include a foundational lab under contract plus agentic-workflow pilots; the ~15-person team is heavy on IR Ph.D.s and Amazon AI alumni. In June 2026 Seltz raised a $12.5 million seed co-led by Speedinvest and B Capital, with Italian Founders Fund, Future Back Ventures, futurepresent, Arc Investors, Vento, Mango Capital, 2100 Ventures, United Ventures and angels from Google, Hugging Face and Ramp, to fund engineering, hiring and enterprise sales.
