Select Interior Concepts (SIC) was an Atlanta-based provider of interior building products, focusing on both distribution and installation services. The company was formed in 2017 through the merger of two Trive Capital-owned assets: Architectural Surfaces Group (ASG), a stone distributor, and Residential Design Services (RDS), a design center and installation services provider. Tyrone Johnson served as the founding CEO from November 2017 until June 2020. His tenure focused on organic growth through new products, cross-selling, and geographic expansion.

The company operated through two primary segments. The Architectural Surfaces Group (ASG) segment functioned as an importer and distributor of natural and engineered stone, such as quartz, marble, and granite. It catered primarily to repair-and-remodel clients, including interior designers, architectural firms, and fabricators. ASG operated a national network of distribution centers and showrooms, managing logistics and inventory for its customers and featuring proprietary brands like PentalQuartz and MetroQuartz. The business model relied on a global supply chain and exclusive relationships with quarries to offer a wide selection of stones.

The Residential Design Services (RDS) segment provided integrated design, sourcing, and installation solutions for a broad array of interior products like flooring, cabinets, and countertops. RDS operated a network of design centers that worked closely with homebuilders, who would outsource the end-to-end interior finishing process. Homebuyers would visit these centers to select their interior layouts and finishes with professional designers, and the RDS team would then complete the installation.

In a significant strategic shift, SIC sold its RDS segment to Interior Logic Group for approximately $215 million in a deal that closed in mid-2021. This move allowed the company to eliminate its debt and concentrate on its higher-margin ASG segment. Shortly after, in October 2021, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners acquired Select Interior Concepts for approximately $411 million in an all-cash transaction. Following the acquisition, SIC became a privately held company, its stock was delisted from NASDAQ, and the company was renamed Architectural Surfaces Group (ASG), headquartered in Austin, Texas.
