The firm's core product was the SavaJe OS, an open, standards-based operating system built entirely on Sun Microsystems' Java technology. Unlike competitors that used the more limited Java Micro Edition, SavaJe OS was a full implementation of Java Standard Edition, which enabled developers to create applications with richer and more flexible user interfaces. The business model targeted both mobile phone manufacturers and network operators, offering them a platform that could be rapidly customized and branded.
