RulesPower
High-performance business rules management systems provider
About RulesPower
RulesPower, Inc. was a technology company specializing in high-performance business rules management systems. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Charles Forgy, the inventor of the original RETE rules engine, the company was established to develop the next evolution in application architecture by separating business logic from the application layer. RulesPower was headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, and received funding from Kodiak Venture Partners and Core Capital Partners.
The company's core product was a Business Logic Server driven by its proprietary RETE III execution engine. This technology was designed for organizations with intensive data and rule requirements, enabling them to manage large data volumes and execute business rules with greater speed and efficiency. The system empowered business users to control and maintain the logic driving their applications without direct IT intervention, thereby increasing business agility.
In September 2005, Fair Isaac Corporation (now FICO) acquired certain assets of RulesPower. The acquisition was a strategic move for Fair Isaac to enhance the capabilities of its Blaze Advisor rules management system by integrating RulesPower's advanced rules execution technology. The goal was to help organizations process complex, high-volume business rules more efficiently across various Fair Isaac solutions. Following the acquisition, Dr. Charles Forgy continued to collaborate with Fair Isaac on research and development in rules management.
