Roundarch

Roundarch emerged in June 2000, a venture initiated by Deloitte and WPP, initially to construct websites and applications. The firm was established at the peak of the dot-com boom with Jeff Maling and Geoff Cubitt on board from the beginning. After a period of struggle that left the company with a single client, Maling and Cubitt acquired the firm themselves in 2005. Under their leadership as co-CEOs, Roundarch experienced a significant turnaround, achieving a 40 percent compounded annual growth.

The company specialized in delivering a range of digital solutions, including websites, rich web applications, and mobile applications for various platforms. Their client portfolio consisted primarily of Fortune 500 companies and large government organizations, such as HBO, Avis, the U.S. Air Force, and Bloomberg Sports. The business model focused on designing and implementing comprehensive digital experiences and web content. Notable projects included redesigning the online presence for Avis Rent-a-Car, developing a touchscreen command center for the New York Jets, and co-designing the touch-screen control panel for the Tesla Model S prototype.

A pivotal moment in Roundarch's history occurred in February 2012 when it was acquired by Aegis Group plc for an initial sum of $125 million. This acquisition was part of Aegis's strategy to expand its digital and North American footprint. Following the acquisition, Roundarch was merged with Isobar, Aegis's existing digital creative network, to form Roundarch Isobar. This merger created a top-tier digital agency with Jeff Maling and Geoff Cubitt continuing as co-CEOs of the new entity, which grew to approximately 450 to 500 employees. The combined firm continued to offer digitally-centered marketing campaigns and applications for web, mobile, and social media. The company was known as Roundarch Isobar until 2013, when the name was simplified to Isobar.
