Ropedia is a data infrastructure service provider focused on the robotics and spatial intelligence sectors. Founded in Singapore in the latter half of 2025, the company aims to address the high costs and complexities associated with collecting structured training data for AI in the physical world. The founding team includes CEO Dr. Chen Zhaoxi, who previously worked on Meta's optical motion capture system; CTO Dr. Hong Fangzhou, who was involved in Meta's first-person multimodal intelligence research; and Chief Scientist Professor Liu Ziwei, a well-known computer vision scholar at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Both Dr. Chen and Dr. Hong hold bachelor's degrees from Tsinghua University and PhDs from NTU. In March 2026, Ropedia announced it had secured tens of millions of dollars in a seed funding round. The investment came from several North American angel investors associated with Google, NVIDIA, and Amazon, as well as prominent Asia-based USD venture funds. This capital is intended to expand the core engineering team, scale up product manufacturing and delivery, and accelerate global market expansion. The company's core product is HOMIE, a wearable, lightweight data capture system. This system collects first-person multimodal signals, including human movement, environmental changes, and object interactions. Combined with Ropedia's proprietary 4D reconstruction and alignment algorithms, the HOMIE system can generate dynamic world representations with real-scale information, which is more suitable for robot training than traditional video data. Ropedia claims this approach can lower the cost of robot training data collection by as much as 50 times. The product has already entered mass production and is being delivered to clients. Ropedia's business model combines the sale of hardware devices with data services and standardized delivery solutions. The company is primarily targeting the North American market, where it serves more than a dozen clients in the embodied AI and spatial intelligence fields. By providing a combination of a capture device, a model, and a data pipeline, Ropedia positions itself as an underlying infrastructure company rather than just a hardware vendor.
