Root Evidence is a cybersecurity startup that provides a platform for identifying and prioritizing exploitable vulnerabilities within enterprise environments. The company launched in July 2025, securing $12.5 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round led by Ballistic Ventures, with additional support from Grossman Ventures and others. Based in Boise, Idaho, Root Evidence was founded by a team of industry veterans: Jeremiah Grossman (CEO), Robert Hansen (CTO), Heather Konold (COO), and Lex Arquette (CPO). Grossman and Arquette previously co-founded WhiteHat Security and Bit Discovery, the latter of which was acquired by Tenable in 2023.

The company's core technology focuses on an evidence-based approach to vulnerability management. Instead of relying on traditional severity scoring systems, the platform uses concrete evidence of risk to help security teams prioritize their efforts on the vulnerabilities that are actively being targeted and pose the most significant threat. This allows organizations to focus on what the company states is the less than 1% of security defects that truly matter, thereby reducing operational noise and the likelihood of a data breach. The platform integrates vulnerability scanning and attack surface management, automating risk scoring and meshing with existing security workflows.

The founders' extensive background in cybersecurity, including Grossman's role as Chief of Security Strategy at SentinelOne, informs the company's strategic direction to address the inefficiencies in traditional vulnerability management.
