Riff, formerly known as Databutton, is an Oslo-based technology company that provides a platform for building and launching production-ready AI applications. Founded in 2021 by Trygve Karper (CEO), Martin Røed (CTO), and Viral Shah (CPO), the company aims to empower non-technical professionals and business 'doers' to create their own AI-powered tools, automations, and agents. The founding team gained technical and operational experience at Cognite, one of Norway's successful startups, which informs their approach to building an enterprise-grade platform.

In October 2025, the company secured $16 million in a Series A funding round led by Northzone, bringing its total funding to $21 million. This capital is intended to accelerate product development and scale its go-to-market strategy, expanding its reach to empower more professionals to build impactful AI solutions.
