About Rego Apps
Rego Apps is a mobile application development company founded by Allen Wong. The company is known for creating several popular applications for iOS and Android, most notably "5-0 Radio Police Scanner" and "Remote for Tesla". Wong, who has a background in computer science and engineering, started developing apps as a side project after graduating from college.
The venture was born out of personal necessity. After the death of his father, Wong became the sole income earner for his family and began creating apps in his spare time to supplement his income. This side project quickly became more lucrative than his full-time job. His most successful app, "5-0 Radio Police Scanner," was launched in 2009 and allows users to listen to police and fire scanner feeds from around the world. This app has been downloaded millions of times and was once the #1 News app. Another notable application is "Police Scanner +", a newer version of the original scanner app released under the Rego Apps company name.
The company also developed "Remote for Tesla," an app that adds functionality for Tesla vehicle owners. Rego Apps' business model is based on selling paid applications directly to consumers through app stores. Wong has operated as the sole individual behind Rego Apps, personally coding and developing the applications.
