Reezocar operates as a digital platform focused on the used car market in Europe, functioning as an intermediary to simplify and secure vehicle transactions for private buyers. The company was established in 2013 by Laurent Potel, Vincent Deboeuf, and Vladimir Grudzinski. The initial concept came from Grudzinski, a car market connoisseur who had been advising individuals on used vehicle purchases for years and saw a gap in the market for a buyer-centric service. The platform officially launched in November 2014, aiming to counter the traditional seller-focused approach of dealerships and online marketplaces.

The company's business model is centered on acting as a neutral and impartial advisor to the buyer. Unlike traditional dealerships, Reezocar does not hold its own inventory, which allows it to provide unbiased recommendations. It aggregates millions of vehicle listings from major European websites, providing a vast selection for its customers. The company serves individuals who may lack the time, expertise, or desire to navigate the complexities of purchasing a used car, especially from another country. Revenue is generated through commissions on sales and fees for its à la carte services. These services include assistance with vehicle search, price negotiation, expert inspection through a network of specialists, handling registration and administrative paperwork, and arranging home delivery.

Reezocar's service provides an end-to-end digital journey for car buyers. A key feature is its aggregation engine that pulls listings from various European sources. Once a vehicle is selected, customers can opt for a full-service package or choose specific services. This includes a network of 4,000 specialists for vehicle inspections, negotiation support, and managing the logistics of delivery and importation. The company later integrated financing and insurance solutions, leveraging its partnership with Société Générale. A 'satisfied or refunded' guarantee for 15 days or 1,000 km is also offered on certain vehicle purchases.

Throughout its history, Reezocar has achieved several milestones. After an initial seed round of €440,000 in 2014, it raised €3 million in 2016 and secured a further €10 million in 2018, with CGI Finance, a subsidiary of Société Générale, taking a minority stake. This partnership deepened, leading to a full acquisition by Société Générale in December 2020. The acquisition was intended to create synergies with the bank's other businesses, particularly in financing and insurance, and to accelerate Reezocar's international development. However, after the departure of all three co-founders from operational roles, Société Générale put Reezocar up for sale in the spring of 2024. Failing to find a buyer, Reezocar ceased its activities in November 2024.
