About Redhill Games

Redhill Games, a Helsinki-based game studio established in 2018, has strategically pivoted its business model to focus on co-development for major global publishers. The company was founded by a trio of seasoned industry professionals: Matias Myllyrinne, former CEO of Remedy Entertainment and Head of Development at Wargaming; Mikko Uromo, a former technical director at both Remedy and Wargaming; and Milos Jerabek, previously a development director at Wargaming. Their collective experience at the helm of successful studios known for major franchises like Alan Wake, Max Payne, and World of Tanks provided a strong foundation for the venture.

Initially, Redhill Games aimed to develop its own intellectual property, securing significant funding to support this vision. The company raised a notable $11.4 million in a 2019 Series A round led by Makers Fund and Play Ventures, with additional project financing from Kowloon Nights. This was followed by a substantial $18.6 million funding round in 2021, with participation from investors including NetEase Capital and Makers Fund. The studio's first and only original title was 'Nine to Five,' a free-to-play tactical first-person shooter for PC. After a period in early access, the game was officially released in May 2022.

However, facing challenges in sustaining and growing the game, Redhill made a decisive shift in its corporate strategy. In late 2022, the company discontinued the development of 'Nine to Five' and transitioned its focus to becoming a co-development partner for other AAA game studios. This pivot leverages the team's deep technical and creative expertise, offering its services to enhance the development of high-profile games. The studio has since established partnerships with industry giants such as Blizzard Entertainment, Supercell, and Liquid Swords, contributing to world-renowned IPs like Overwatch 2. This model allows Redhill to generate revenue by providing specialized development services, working on some of the world's leading game brands.
