To advance the quality of care for patients suffering from sight-threatening diseases. MoreLess

Intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy has revolutionized the management of major retinal diseases, with revenues projected to reach $19 billion by 2029. Yet, a significant unmet need remains: patients must endure frequent in-office injections and monitoring, while real-world outcomes continue to fall short of clinical trial results.

A key driver of this treatment burden is the rate of drug clearance. Current practice addresses this by injecting large amounts of drug, well above the clinically relevant dose, to extend the treatment window to roughly 3–4 months for a subset of patients.

Re-Vana takes a fundamentally different approach. Instead of delivering high excess doses, our technologies enable sustained, controlled release of smaller amounts of drug, maintaining therapeutic concentrations for 6–12 months without the peaks, troughs, and treatment gaps that compromise patient outcomes. By reducing injections to twice yearly-or potentially once yearly, without surgery, we aim to keep patients consistently within the therapeutic window. Our approach has the potential to improve real-world outcomes while dramatically reducing treatment burden.

The treatment burden and drug clearance challenge affects all retinal therapies, representing an enormous opportunity for Re-Vana. Our proprietary photo crosslinked biodegradable hydrogel technologies. EyeLief® and OcuLief® are designed to avoid inflammation and to protect biologics from aggregation and degradation. Re-Vana’s technologies are therapeutic-modality agnostic (including Biologics, Peptide, Large and Small molecules) and have been successfully applied to more than 20 different molecules.

Re-Vana is advancing eye health through both internal pipeline programs and strategic collaborations with leading ophthalmology companies. In July 2025 Re-Vana and Boehringer Ingelheim announced a strategic collaboration to develop long-acting ophthalmic therapies.
