Raziel Therapeutics, founded in 2012, is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company headquartered in Rehovot, Israel. Raziel is advancing RZL-012 through multiple clinical trials for several indications. A primary aesthetic application is the reduction of submental fat, for which Phase 3 trials have been initiated in China with a projected market launch in 2027. The drug is also being evaluated for body contouring, such as reducing flank fat, and for therapeutic uses. Notably, the FDA granted RZL-012 an orphan drug designation for Dercum's disease, a rare condition characterized by painful fatty deposits called lipomas. Clinical studies have shown RZL-012 can significantly reduce pain associated with these lipomas.
