Railsr, formerly known as Railsbank, operates in the embedded finance sector, providing a platform that enables companies to integrate financial services into their existing products. The company was founded in 2016 by Nigel Verdon and Clive Mitchell. Verdon, a co-founder and former CEO of Currencycloud, and Mitchell, who also had a background in financial technology, aimed to simplify the process for businesses to offer financial products without building the underlying infrastructure from scratch.

The company's core offering is a suite of APIs and tools that allow businesses to embed services such as digital wallets, credit, payments, and rewards. This business-to-business (B2B) model targets a diverse client base, including retailers, sports clubs, and other non-financial companies, empowering them to become fintech providers themselves.
