About Quick Hit
Quick Hit Inc. was a digital entertainment company that developed and operated an online sports gaming network. Founded in 2008, the firm carved a niche in the online sports gaming market with its flagship title, "Quick Hit Football."
The company was steered by CEO Jeffrey Anderson, a seasoned executive from the gaming industry who was previously the CEO of Turbine. Quick Hit secured $16.4 million in funding from venture capital firms including New Enterprise Associates, Valhalla Partners, MMV Capital Partners, and TriplePoint Capital. Initially, the game featured generic teams but distinguished itself by incorporating the likenesses and strategic profiles of renowned former NFL coaches such as Bill Cowher, Jimmy Johnson, and Brian Billick, allowing players to compete against their AI-driven coaching styles.
A significant milestone was achieved in June 2010 when the company secured a licensing agreement with the NFL, enabling the integration of official team logos, colors, and branding into the game. The business model was centered on a free-to-play structure, generating revenue through advertising and in-game microtransactions. In June 2011, Quick Hit Inc. and its development team were acquired by Majesco Entertainment. Following the acquisition, the game struggled to maintain its NFL license, and Majesco announced the shutdown of "QuickHit Football" operations on August 17, 2012.
