QT Sense
Developing quantum sensing technology to study free radicals in cells, aiding disease understanding
About QT Sense
QT Sense is a Groningen quantum-sensing biotech whose Quantum Nuova platform uses fluorescent nanodiamond sensors (nitrogen-vacancy centres) to measure oxidative stress, free-radical kinetics and metabolic activity in living cells at single-cell resolution—capabilities traditional fixed-tissue assays cannot provide. Led by CEO Dr Deepak Veeregowda, the company partners with University Medical Center Groningen and early research users on applications spanning oncology, immunology and drug-mechanism studies. After earlier financing announced around €6 million in 2025 (QDNL Participations, angels and Interreg-linked support), in February 2026 QT Sense raised a €4 million package comprising a €3 million seed led by Cottonwood Technology Fund with follow-on from QDNL Participations and an angel, plus about €1 million non-dilutive funding (including ONCO-Q and the Quantum Forward Challenge) to harden Quantum Nuova for partner deployments and colorectal-cancer programmes. Equity and grants are distinct. Sources: Quantum Insider 4 Feb 2026; TNW; company.
