About Qolab
Qolab develops industrial-grade superconducting quantum processors, using fabrication-aware design together with standard semiconductor foundry and wafer-scale manufacturing methods. The company was co-founded by 2025 Nobel laureate John Martinis (CTO), Alan Ho (CEO, formerly of Google Quantum AI), Robert McDermott and Britton Plourde. It collaborates with Applied Materials and Western Digital on fabrication, and completed its first external deployment of a scalable superconducting qubit device at the Israeli Quantum Computing Center. Its Qolab Start product is a deployable superconducting QPU platform. In July 2026 the company closed a 54.2 million dollar Series B led by UC Investments, following a Series A of more than 16 million dollars backed by Octave Ventures, the Development Bank of Japan, WARF, Phoenix Venture Partners and Applied Ventures.
