Established in October 2020, Qixin Micro Semiconductor, also known as Flagchip, is a specialized designer of high-end automotive controller chips. The company was founded in Suzhou by Wan Yutang, a professional with over three decades of experience in the semiconductor and telecommunications sectors. Recognizing the shift towards intelligent vehicles as the next major smart platform, Wan and his team, who possess an average of over 18 years in automotive-grade chip design, launched the company to address the domestic gap in next-generation intelligent vehicle controller chips.

Qixin Micro operates as a fabless semiconductor company, focusing on the research, development, and sales of its chip products. Its business model revolves around supplying these specialized microcontrollers to Tier 1 automotive suppliers and major car manufacturers. The company has secured significant financing across multiple rounds, including investments from notable firms like Intel Capital, Xiaomi, and Huawei's Hubble Investment, which has funded the expansion of its product lines and the mass production of its chips.

The company's product portfolio is built upon ARM Cortex M4 and M7 architectures, creating systems-on-a-chip (SoCs) for a variety of automotive applications. These products are designed to meet stringent automotive standards, including AEC-Q100 for reliability and ISO 26262 for functional safety, covering safety integrity levels from ASIL B to ASIL D. Qixin Micro's chips are utilized in numerous vehicle systems such as body and domain control, chassis, safety, powertrain, and battery management. One of its initial products, the FC4150 series, is a 32-bit MCU based on the Arm Cortex-M4, which achieved mass production and large-scale client delivery in 2023. This was followed by the development of more advanced series like the FC7300, a high-performance multi-core unit for ASIL D applications, and the FC7240, targeting systems like electric power steering, motor control, and battery management.
