ProntoPro operates as Italy's largest digital marketplace for local services, connecting individuals and businesses with a wide array of professional service providers. Founded in Milan in 2015 by Marco Ogliengo and Silvia Wang, the company was established to digitize and bring meritocracy to the traditionally opaque and word-of-mouth-driven market for professional services.

The founders, a husband-and-wife team, brought complementary expertise to the venture. Marco Ogliengo, a Bocconi University and Fudan University graduate, had prior experience at McKinsey and as a Managing Director at Zalora Group, a luxury marketplace. His entrepreneurial drive stemmed from a desire to build his own company and tackle the unaddressed professional services sector in Italy. Silvia Wang, also a Bocconi University graduate, gained experience as a Marketing Manager at Rocket Internet, working with major e-commerce platforms like Zalora and Lazada. Their combined background in e-commerce, market strategy, and management shaped ProntoPro's trajectory.

The platform functions as a lead-generation tool. Customers post a request for a service from over 600 categories, which include everything from plumbers and event organizers to photographers and wellness experts. Vetted professionals on the platform then receive these requests and can choose to respond with a quote. ProntoPro's revenue model is based on a credit system, where service providers purchase credits to submit their bids on customer job requests. This model allows professionals to directly connect with potential clients and expand their business through the platform.

The company has demonstrated significant growth since its inception. A key milestone was the September 2022 merger with Armut, Turkey's leading local services marketplace. This strategic move was accompanied by a €15 million funding round to strengthen their combined position in the EMEA region. Before the merger, ProntoPro had already secured over €10 million in funding through several rounds, with notable investors including Immobiliare.it. The merger expanded the new entity's operations to 14 countries, with ProntoPro becoming an operating subsidiary of Armut Teknoloji.
