ProGlove provides industrial wearable technology, combining hardware and software to enhance human-machine collaboration on the shop floor. The company was founded in Munich, Germany, in 2014 by Thomas Kirchner, Paul Günther, Jonas Girardet, and Alexander Grots. The concept originated from co-founder Paul Günther's experience as a tour guide at a BMW plant, where he identified inefficiencies in the scanning process. By integrating the scanner into a glove or a hand strap, the company offers a hands-free solution that can reduce scanning time by several seconds per scan, which translates to significant productivity gains in high-volume environments. The product portfolio, including the MARK and LEO series, features lightweight, durable scanners with various ranges and capabilities, which provide haptic, acoustic, and optical feedback to guide the user. The business model involves selling the hardware (scanners and wearables) and providing a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, ProGlove Insight. This analytics platform collects data from the wearable devices, offering insights into operational workflows, device management, and worker well-being, which helps customers like Audi, BMW, DHL, and Bosch digitize and optimize their processes.

The company's journey began with the development of over 70 prototypes to refine the initial concept. Following initial seed funding and a successful Series A round, ProGlove began commercializing its products in 2016. A major funding milestone was a $40 million Series C round in 2019 led by Summit Partners, which fueled international expansion.
