About Process Data Control
In October 1986, two partners in Texas, Jeremiah P. O'Brien and Paul J. Nix, founded Process Data Control (PDC), a registered professional engineering firm. They targeted a specific and complex market: helping heavy industrial clients like chemical plants and oil refineries manage their environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) compliance through software and process improvement. PDC’s journey began by building foundational tools for these industries. A key moment arrived in the early 1990s when they became a major provider of air pollution reporting software in Texas. Showing an early ability to adapt, the company re-engineered its DOS-based software to a Windows platform in the mid-1990s, driven by the needs of a consortium of its own clients. This customer-centric approach allowed them to expand their services and open a new office in Houston by the late 1990s. The company continued its steady, methodical growth, avoiding the limelight while embedding itself deeper into the operational workflows of its clients. The firm embraced web technologies in the mid-2000s, ensuring its solutions remained relevant. After more than three decades of private operation, the significant event in PDC's story occurred in November 2021. The company was acquired by TenForce, a European EHSQ software provider, which itself is part of the larger Elisa IndustrIQ group. The acquisition marked a strategic move for TenForce to establish a stronger foothold in the United States, validating the deep industry expertise and niche market position that O'Brien and Nix had built over 35 years.
