Power Efficiency Corp (OTC: PEFF) is a company that developed and marketed technologies to improve the energy efficiency of electric motors. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in San Diego, CA, the company focused on reducing energy consumption in alternating current (AC) induction motors through its proprietary solid-state electrical devices. The company's core product was the E-Save Technology platform, which aimed to reduce electric motor energy use by matching the power supplied to the motor with its specific load requirements. This was particularly relevant for motors that operate at less than their peak rated load for significant periods.

The technology was developed to address inefficiencies in both single-phase and three-phase AC induction motors, which are widely used in appliances, light commercial equipment, and agricultural applications. Over the years, Power Efficiency Corp. was granted multiple U.S. patents for the core algorithms within its E-Save Technology, including an open-loop control method for optimizing motor energy use. The company was led by Chairman and CEO Steve Strasser. In 2017, the company announced a strategic alliance with Evaporcool Solutions, LLC, to market and sell air-cooled chiller enhancement systems in the Northeast U.S. At that time, Power Efficiency Corporation stated its intention to become a comprehensive solution for grid stability problems, focusing on Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The company's stock was delisted, and public information after 2017 is scarce.
