About PolicyStreet
PolicyStreet is a Malaysia-based insurtech that embeds and distributes insurance through digital platforms and partners, covering personal lines, SME/MSME protection, and gig-worker cover. Co-founded by CEO Lee Yen Ming, it has served more than 10 million customers since launch, facilitated over US$10 billion in sum insured, and worked with tens of thousands of SMEs across Asia; roughly one in ten customers is a gig worker. The company holds relevant licences for its markets and emphasises accessible, affordable protection over complex retail-only sales.
In April 2026 PolicyStreet raised about US$21 million as the first close of a Series C it described as Malaysia’s largest insurtech round, with investors including Khazanah Nasional, Cool Japan Fund, Altara Ventures and Gobi Partners. In July 2026 BlueOrchard (Schroders Group) added about US$5 million via its InsuResilience strategy, taking the Series C to about US$26 million. Proceeds fund regional expansion, technology, embedded partnerships, and products aimed at closing protection gaps for individuals and MSMEs, with long-term targets including 1.5 million gig workers and 300,000 MSMEs by 2030.
