Planted Solar (Planted) is an Oakland company that turns utility-scale solar construction into a manufactured, robot-built product: planning software, high-density terrain-following arrays (slopes up to about 27% without grading), storage and field robotics that deliver more energy per acre in months rather than years. Under CEO Eric Brown, Planted reports a 28 MW behind-the-meter neocloud project from first call to power in ten months (field build under three months), bankable projects such as Bowes Solar (11 MW, Illinois), and denser redesigns that unlocked local review; after more than 10 MW in 2025 it targeted about 100 MW in 2026 against a multi-gigawatt pipeline. In September 2026 Planted raised $31.8 million Series B co-led by Piva Capital and RA Capital Management Planetary Health, with Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gigascale Capital, Google and Khosla Ventures, to expand its robotic fleet and launch next-generation Sage robots.
