Pit is a Stockholm-based startup that provides an AI-native platform designed to replace manual and fragmented enterprise operations with custom, production-grade software. Founded in 2025 by a team with experience from prominent European tech companies like Voi, Klarna, and iZettle, Pit aims to address the inefficiencies of workflows that rely on spreadsheets, inboxes, and rigid SaaS tools. The co-founders include Adam Jafer (CEO), Filip Lindvall, Fredrik Hjelm, Anton Öberg, and Fredrik Olovsson. The idea for Pit originated from CEO Adam Jafer's experience at the micro-mobility company Voi, where initial attempts to build internal AI tools for workflows proved to be bespoke, fragile, and difficult to scale. The company operates on a model it describes as an "AI product team as a service". It targets mid-to-large enterprises burdened by manual processes such as contract processing, campaign management, and data reconciliation. Pit's business model involves understanding a client's specific business needs and workflows—from operations to finance—and then using its platform to build and deploy custom software to automate and manage those processes. The platform consists of two main components: Pit Studio, which learns how the business operates and builds the tailored systems, and Pit Cloud, which provides the secure, governed infrastructure for these systems to run on. This cloud infrastructure is compliant with standards like ISO 27001 and GDPR and includes features such as single sign-on (SSO) and role-based access controls. Unlike low-code or no-code platforms that can produce prototypes leading to technical debt, Pit delivers fully operational, maintainable, and documented software systems designed for production from day one. The platform integrates with a company's existing tool stack, removing manual work between systems without requiring a complete overhaul. On May 7, 2026, Pit announced its public launch along with a $16 million funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Lakestar and angel investors from companies such as OpenAI, Google, and Revolut. Early customers include Voi, Tre, Stena Recycling, and Kry, operating in sectors like logistics, telecom, e-commerce, and healthcare.
