A significant seed funding round of $20 million was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from investors like Neo, Analog Ventures, Gallery, Crucible, and Uber's CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi. This funding is intended to further develop its AI-powered platform. The platform functions as a consolidated hub for risk management, integrating data analysis, portfolio construction, execution, and accounting. It leverages artificial intelligence to analyze data from various sources, including client contracts, cash flows, ERP systems, and even WhatsApp communications, to continuously assess a company's exposure. The system then constructs and manages hedge portfolios, adjusting positions in real-time based on market dynamics and the client's risk appetite. This transforms hedging from a static decision into a continuous, autonomous process. The platform is designed for precision, allowing businesses to hedge exact quantities tied to specific transactions and make automatic adjustments. Clients can interact with the system using natural language on the web app or through WhatsApp. Pillar targets commodity-driven enterprises such as those in the metals, food, and airline sectors, aiming to democratize access to sophisticated risk management tools that were previously unavailable to many producers and manufacturers. The company operates as a registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) and is a member of the National Futures Association.
