Photoncycle is a Norwegian energy-storage company that builds solid-state hydrogen systems for seasonal storage — storing surplus summer solar for winter heating and electricity at household scale. Founded by Bjørn Brandtzæg, it targets lower, more predictable year-round energy costs versus short-duration lithium-ion batteries, with heat recovery when paired with heat pumps, and plans a subscription model bundling rooftop solar, ~10,000 kWh seasonal storage and servicing. Capital funds commercial rollout in Denmark and the Netherlands and the first phase of industrialisation toward a proposed large manufacturing facility.
