Established in 2006, Performix Inc. carved a niche as a specialized provider of manufacturing execution system (MES) software tailored for the pharmaceutical, biotech, cosmetics, and specialty chemicals industries. The company was founded by Sham Afzalpurkar, who also served as its President and CEO.

Performix's core offering was a modular MES platform designed to digitize and optimize the manufacturing process. This platform provided composite applications that integrated with SAP ECC landscapes, enhancing visibility and control on the shop floor. Key features included digital batch records (eBR), weigh and dispensing (W&D) management, and master batch record (MBR) functionalities, which connected the enterprise level to the plant floor operations. The software suite aimed to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency by delivering digital procedures, workflow instructions, and lot traceability. Its business model centered on providing these tailored software solutions and services to its specific industry clients.

After operating as a core partner with companies like Honeywell and SAP, Performix Inc. was acquired by Honeywell on September 27, 2021. The acquisition was a strategic move for Honeywell to bolster its integrated software platform for the life sciences sector, combining Performix's MES with its own Process Knowledge System and recently acquired Sparta Systems' quality management software. This integration created a comprehensive suite encompassing process automation, production management, and data analytics, addressing the full product lifecycle for manufacturers.
