About Peak 10

Originally founded as Peak 10 in 2000, the company rebranded to Flexential in 2018 following its significant $1.7 billion acquisition of ViaWest in August 2017. This merger created a national provider of hybrid IT solutions. Prior to the merger, Peak 10 primarily served southeastern U.S. markets, while ViaWest had a strong presence in the western U.S. The combined entity, under the leadership of CEO Chris Downie, adopted the name Flexential to signify its flexible and essential approach to customer service in the IT transformation landscape.

Flexential provides tailored IT infrastructure services, including colocation, cloud, interconnection, data protection, and professional services. The company operates a network of over 40 data centers in 19 markets, featuring a 100Gbps private network backbone. This infrastructure, known as the FlexAnywhere® platform, is designed to support complex business needs, including high-density computing for AI and machine learning workloads. Flexential serves a diverse client base across various industries, offering scalable solutions from single server racks to multi-megawatt deployments. The business model focuses on providing customized, hybrid IT solutions that allow clients to manage costs, security, and scalability.

The company is backed by private equity firm GI Partners, which has been an investor since 2014, and recently received a major investment from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, giving the two firms co-control. This investment aims to fuel further growth and capitalize on increasing demand for digital transformation services and AI workload management. Flexential continues to expand its capacity in key markets to meet the demands of an increasingly digital and geographically dispersed workforce.
