The platform offers end-to-end encryption for both passwords and their associated metadata, such as resource names and login URLs—an enhancement introduced in version 5.1 to further protect contextual information around credentials. Passbolt’s architecture allows users to securely share passwords and secrets within teams, ensuring that only authorized members can access or modify sensitive data.

Version 5.0 brought a redesigned user interface aimed at simplifying credential sharing at scale, improving usability for both technical and non-technical users.
