His journey, rooted in a computer science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, reflects a mission to create enriching and creative online social experiences. The company has assembled an international team of industry veterans from prominent studios like Riot Games, Capcom, and Electronic Arts.

The firm has secured significant financial backing, raising a total of $17.5 million over two rounds. This includes a $2.5 million seed round in 2021 and a substantial $15 million Series A round in March 2022, led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Other key investors include Pear VC, BoxGroup, Global Founders Capital, and angel investors like Mark Pincus.

Pahdo Labs is focused on the growing market for anime-style multiplayer games. The company's business model centers on the development and direct sale of its games, with plans for a live, evolving service model. Their debut title, "Starlight Re:Volver," is a cooperative action roguelite RPG launching in Early Access on Steam. The initial business model for the Early Access period is a one-time purchase, with potential for additional monetization post-full release to support ongoing development and server costs. The studio has explicitly stated it will not include crypto or NFTs in its products.

"Starlight Re:Volver" allows up to four players to team up in an anime-inspired universe. The game features a dual-world system: a bustling social hub city, Nishi Island Metropolis, and dream-like realms called So Mi. Players, known as "Divers," explore these realms to battle enemies and bosses. A core feature is the roguelite gameplay, where players discover new ability combinations in each run. The game also incorporates a user-generated content (UGC) component, aiming to empower players with AI-enhanced tools and procedural generation to create their own worlds and experiences. This strategy aims to foster a long-term community by allowing players to make a lasting impact within a shared, persistent world.
