About Pacifico Biolabs
Pacifico Biolabs is a German food-tech company producing whole-cut mycelium meat alternatives by adapting idle brewery tanks for biomass fermentation, an asset-light model aimed at lower capital cost versus purpose-built bioreactors. Founded in 2022 by Zac Austin and Washington Logroño, it supplies food manufacturers, brands and retailers (private-label and semi-finished) with whole muscle-like structures rather than hybrid mince ingredients, initially targeting DACH and the Nordics. In May 2026 Pacifico closed a €7 million ($8.1 million) Series A backed by Stray Dog Capital, TGFS, Sprout & About Ventures, Simon Capital, FoodLabs and a regional brewery partner, bringing total equity raised to about €10 million alongside roughly €1.5 million in grants, to scale Saxony production toward about 200 tonnes per month for commercial launches.
