The core of OxSonics' offering is the SonoTran® platform, designed to overcome the challenge of poor drug penetration into solid tumors. The system works by co-administering proprietary, injectable 'SonoTran Particles' with an unmodified anti-cancer drug. These particles, which are optimized to pass into the tumor mass, carry stabilized gas bubbles. A dedicated, mobile ultrasound system is then used to target the tumor, causing the bubbles to undergo inertial cavitation (expansion and collapse). This creates a mechanical pumping effect that actively transports the co-administered drug deeper into and throughout the tumor tissue, enhancing its concentration and distribution. A key feature is the "see-as-you-treat" technology, which provides clinicians with real-time on-screen visualization and monitoring of the treatment area.
