ORAMA
Digital investment platform for fixed income and funds
About ORAMA
ORAMA is a Brazilian digital investment platform established in 2011 by Selmo Nissenbaum, Guilherme Horn, Roberto Rocha, and Habib Nascif. The founders, some of whom had previously created and sold Ágora Corretora to Bradesco, aimed to democratize access to investment products. The company was a pioneer in Brazil in offering investment funds from independent asset managers with lower initial application values than the market standard, making them accessible through feeder funds (FICs).
The platform's offerings expanded in 2014 to include fixed-income products like CDB, LC, LCI, and LCA, and later added variable-income and private pension products in 2018. A key part of ORAMA's philosophy is promoting financial education, providing comparative data, charts, and e-books through its website to empower clients. In recent years, ORAMA also developed an "Investment as a Service" (IaaS) model, offering its technology as a white-label solution for other companies to provide investment products to their customer bases.
In October 2023, BTG Pactual acquired ORAMA for R$ 500 million, a strategic move to expand BTG's digital retail operations and client base. The acquisition included all of ORAMA's distributor activities but excluded its fund management business. At the time of the sale, ORAMA had approximately R$ 18 billion in assets under custody and 360,000 clients. Following the sale, some of the original founders, including Selmo Nissenbaum, Habib Nascif, and Roberto Rocha, launched a new IaaS venture called Nikos.
